My Why

Dear Beloved Person,

my heart's desire is not just taking pretty pictures, but rather to SHOW you how much you are truly loved...

Photographs are so much more than a family facing the camera, saying CHEEEEESE with fake grins, stiff joints, and wearing matching outfits. They're a glimpse into our lives... our personal stories... I've always loved a good story...

How often do we enter the stories of our loved ones, visually? Will our children have images of our Saturday morning cuddles? The rocking of that colicky baby? What about our spouse? Do you know what it looks like when your person looks at you? When they laugh at your quirkiness? When they hold you close, because it's been a tough day?

I didn't grow up with photographs like these. I don't think many of us do. I want people to FEEL something stirring in their hearts when they look at their photos... Not just become aware of the fashion in the year that snapshot was taken, noting the hairstyles and the forced smiles. Those are the photographs that I have in my old shoebox. I want to give people art. Mom's holding their baby close, inhaling the scent of innocence.  Independent toddlers exploring the world around them. Children embracing their parents with the adoration only a Mom and Dad can earn. Families playing, dancing and snuggling, quiet tenderness and laughing. I want all the authentic giggles and the silliness. I want people to see their little tribe and know that They Are Loved by them. I want them to be able to see what that looks like in this moment.  I want your family to see the way you look at them with a heart so full it could burst!

I, like so many other photographers was the one in my family that never left home without a camera and frequently put together "photoshoots" of my pets, family members, and friends; never wanting to lose my memories. I suppose loved ones have always been my life's most valuable treasures...

It wasn't until after becoming a mom, that I invested in a "fancy camera" and began to pursue photography, more seriously. My why started as a mom who couldn't bare the thought of forgetting the most special moments of my life. One day, my why expanded...

I believe we are all loved. Fiercely! My passion is for you to see it. Feel it. And then pass it on.

Be Love, Be Loved, Beloved

When I lose my way,

And I forget my name

Remind me who I am

In the mirror all I see

Is who I don't wanna be

Remind me who I am

In the loneliest of places

When I can't remember what grace is

Tell me, once again

Who I am to You

Tell me, lest I forget

Who I am to You, that I belong to You

When my heart is like a stone

And I"m running far from home

Remind me who I am

When I can't receive Your love

Afraid I'll never be enough

Remind me who I am

If I"m your Beloved...Can You help me believe it

I'm the one You love...
